HPI designers worked overtime to stretch, massage and form the Savage monster truck into the latest extension of the Savage line-up: the Savage 5T! This is probably the BIGGEST nitro monster truck ever offered, and is the largest version of the famous HPI Savage! The Savage 5T comes complete with highly detailed desert racing truck bodyshell, scale all-terrain tyres, real beadlock wheels, 4WD drivetrain and a heart-pounding 5.9cc nitro-powered engine! The Savage 5T uses all of the latest heavy-duty options available for the Savage line-up of trucks, plus the Savage 3-speed auto-shifting transmission, extra-long centre dogbones and dual shocks at each corner to make it a four-wheel drive, go-anywhere ground-chomping monster desert racer!

The Savage 5T means a huge size - nearly 1 metre long - and the gigantic bodyshell, beadlock wheels and authentic all-terrain tyres give it a look and feel that can't be matched by any other nitro-powered car or truck, anywhere! All this power and durability gets you nowhere unless the truck is easy to drive and can get you through the rough stuff, so HPI designers made sure that the Savage 5T can take everything you can through it at and come through like a champ! Four-wheel drive traction gives you the confidence and control to tackle any sort of terrain, and proven Savage-tough durability lets you rip across tracks, fields and much more with total confidence! 4WD gives grip, power and braking ability into corners, and its light weight combined with the massive K5.9 nitro engine allows the Savage 5T to accelerate cleanly and smoothly out of trouble! The tall desert racing tyres make handling the rough stuff easy, and the ground clearance of better than 7cm (over 3 inches) gets you over any obstacles with room to spare! Each corner of the Savage 5T is suspended from 2 long-stroke composite-body shocks, each one filled with oil for consistent damping and fitted with strong racing springs to give you traction and stability no matter where you go. In addition to the easy handling, the Savage 5T can handle even rougher terrain than the rest of the Savage monster trucks because its massive size. The Savage 5T is more forgiving in extreme terrain than other Savage trucks, making it easier to control and more forgiving in the most terrifying conditions!

To get the extra-long wheelbase of the Savage 5T, HPI designers used an all-new super-extended TVP (Twin Vertical Plate) chassis that is made from 3mm thick 6061 aluminium. 6061-series aluminium is light and strong and provides the strength for stretching the Savage platform to a massive 562mm wheelbase! The chassis features the unique Savage ‘X’ styling, plus a few extra design features etched into the chassis to really make it stand out! The engine is fitted to a one-piece engine mount which is then firmly attached to a 3mm extra thick engine mounting plate that is mounted between the TVP chassis. These are the thickest standard TVP and engine plate parts used on a Savage monster truck, and can easily withstand the torque of the massive Nitro Star K5.9 engine, plus anything else you can throw at the truck!

To soak up ruts, bumps, rough landings and more, the Savage 5T is fitted with realistic all-terrain tyres straight off the Baja 5T! You'll get good traction on hard surfaces like tarmac, plus plenty of grip on gravel and dirt. The tall sidewalls provide extra shock absorption and allow the tyres to grip extremely well as they roll over obstacles.

The Savage 5T kit also includes a set of four Terra Pin tyre mounted on sturdy Savage wheels with 17mm hex hubs, the same exact wheels and tyres fitted to the Savage XL! These give you even greater versatility for going through all types of terrain! A complete set of 17mm hex hubs are included to allow you to fit these and any other monster truck wheels with 17mm hexes (which includes most HPI Savage wheels).

The Savage 5T features the Savage 3-speed transmission to get the most out of the huge torque from the K5.9 engine. This gives you the best acceleration and top speed possible, getting all the power efficiently to the ground for maximum fun and enjoyment! The transmission is fully adjustable, too, so you can choose how early or late the Savage 5T will shift into higher gear!

To widen the stance of the Savage chassis, the Savage 5T uses aluminium extending axles with 17mm hex hubs. These are lightweight and tough, and fit any 17mm hex monster truck or truggy type wheel, so your collection of monster truck wheels are perfectly usable! Serrated steel wheel nuts grip the plastic of the wheels to keep them locked in place, making sure that you’ll never see a wheel bouncing past your truck! You can also fit the Savage XL and Baja 5T wheels and tyres for extra options!

The Savage 5T features the XL uprights (shown here with XL wheel hubs), which are designed for the larger tyres and weight of this massive beast. Beefier parts means the truck can take far more abuse and punishment, giving you plenty of big-air thrills before a parts breakages forces you to take a break. The Savage 5T uses all of our existing extra-tough differential parts for a solid drivetrain. Machined diff ring and pinion bevel gears easily take the power of 5.9cc of nitro-burning mayhem, alloy diff cases and 4-gear diffs with new larger diff outdrives and axles round out the ultra-strong differentials, while extra heavy-duty dogbones get the power to both ends and all four wheels with ease.

Getting the power to the dogbones are larger, thicker and stronger diff outdrive cups. These machined steel outdrives can take the punishment of the suspension movement and the power of the K5.9 engine to get you through the toughest driving conditions and terrain with no problems!

Extra-thick, super duty dogbones provide the insurance you'll want when you take the Savage 5T way off-road and into rough country! The thicker diameter, larger ends and sleek black anodizing add up to all the assurance you'll want that the drivetrain won't let you down when the going gets tough! You'll be able to commit the full power of the K5.9 engine to the ground without worrying about drivetrain breakages or anything else!

A machined steel 52T spur gear is the perfect match for the horsepower of the Nitro Star K5.9 engine. With the heavy duty vented clutchbell spinning the spur gear, you get a huge amount of drivetrain protection with gears that won't strip, melt or break! You'll have security and peace of mind that your truck will not only perform superbly, but last as long as possible in the roughest of terrain and conditions!

The Savage 5T uses a sturdy 3-shoe aluminium clutch to get the power from the engine into the drivetrain. Using a unique, new blend of aluminium, the clutch shoes will resist wear, not be affected by engine heat and last for a very long time. There's no more secure way to get the power to the ground!

HPI designers settled on a super-strong, extra-tough high torque metal gear servo. With nearly 9kg of force per centimeter (that's 126psi!), the SF-5 will get those tall truck tyres turning easily at any speed! There's no need to upgrade the servo for anything else - this baby's got it all! With the bellcrank steering and built-in servo saver, you can be sure that the SF-5 will be fully protected against crash damage or bad landings, too!

To make sure the servos have all the power they need and then some, we're throwing in an HPI 1200mAh NiMH battery pack! This rechargeable pack even includes a convenient wall charger so you can make sure that the Savage 5T is always ready to rumble! You don't even need to take the pack out of the truck to charge it - just use the convenient charging jack built into the radio box and you'll be ready to go in no time!
