New HB TCX takes win at Union Square GP

Wed, 21st April 2010

In the capable hands of Andy Moore, the prototype version of the prototype TCX touring car took TQ honours and the overall win at this past weekend's Union Square Grand Prix in Aberdeen, Scotland, on the 17th and 18th of April. Andy put on quite a show for the public, as the race was held in the brand new, multi-million pound Union Square shopping mall, right in the middle of all the storefronts with plenty of spectators on hand to witness organized RC car racing first-hand.

Racers utilized pit areas in the conference centre of the adjacent hotel, took up rooms in the hotel and the race was held in the main entrance atrium of the shopping centre, giving everyone a chance to see the action. Also organized were RTR cars for the public to try at the end of every round of racing, giving them a chance to drive on a proper racing track. Also doing well at the event was Chris Clark, placing second in the 1/12th scale class with his Cyclone 12X. For more on the racing check out Red RC: Finals report and the Qualifying report. The TCX is the latest touring car developed by HB designers and tested by World Champion drivers like Andy Moore and Atsushi Hara. It's designed to be the perfect match for the latest battery types and is ideally balanced for top racers. Hara and Andy have been testing and refining the car to be the best it can be, and we're eagerly awaiting its arrival! Pictures are provided by Adrian Jefferies and BRCA-TC
