Nathan Ralls is a very well known name in the UK racing scene, being a multiple BRCA Regional Champion and National A finalist, as well as taking international victory at EIR in Belgium. Known for being very knowledgeable, helpful and approachable, HPI could not think of a more suited driver to accompany Craig Collinson for the new range of Flux Pro products.
Nathan first saw the motors back in the middle of 2010 and tested them in early Jan 2011. After the first run with the HPI Flux Pro motor and HPI Flux Pro ESC, Nathan was hooked! The main things Nathan was impressed by were the controllable throttle response and the adjustability of the ESC. The boost profiles in the ESC allow you to have a very controlled bottom end power delivery followed by crazy top speeds when you activate it on full throttle, a great feature if you run higher wind motors to get the traction. Nathan was so impressed that he signed up there and then with HPI! His first race with the HPI Flux Pro products was in Belgium at the EIR last month. Nathan had a very respectable 5th on the grid in 2WD, followed up by a 2nd place position in the finals. Nathan lined up 4th in 4WD and finished 3rd in the finals. A little bit more luck would have helped in the Final,s but he had great pace on the demanding indoor astroturf track. After EIR Nathan said 'The HPI Flux Pro electrics in my cars gave me the confidence I needed to clear the all important jump sections of the track for the full 5 minutes of the race and no matter how hard I pushed the cars, both motor and speedo temperatures stayed at least 20 degrees cooler than anything I have run before! The drivability of the speed controllers means that I can run much lower winds without losing feel or higher winds with the boost function turned on to allow much higher top speeds. I now really look forward to this years' national and international racing with confidence!' 3 weeks later Nathan made his first trip to the Ardent Winter Series and dominated the meeting, taking 2 TQ's and 1 A final win!
