Scale Baja Fun with Massive Flux Power!
The Baja 5B Flux takes the stage as another
large-scale release for HPI in 2012! This super-powerful,
super-quick buggy can hit speeds up to 60mph with 8S power and a
780Kv motor! Powering this 1/5 Scale electric Baja is a Castle
Creations Mamba XL2 ESC and 2028-780Kv electric motor that is 8s
LiPo (33.6volts) compatible. With this powerful system and an 8S
LiPo battery, there is nearly 10hp available right at your
fingertips for immense speed and thrills! The Baja 5B Flux is fully
outfitted with the latest options, including the drivetrain parts
from the Baja 5SC, adjustable VVC/HD shocks, 2.4GHz radio system
and high-torque, large scale metal gear steering servo. Completing
the package is a new Baja 5B Flux-specific body with smooth,
flowing body lines on both sides of the shell since there is no
need for a fuel cap entry slot on the left side of the shell.
To handle the power and speed of the Castle
Creations 2028-780KV motor in something the size and weight of the
Baja 5B Flux, Castle came up with the Mamba XL2 speed controller -
able to handle up to 8S LiPo (29.6 volts) and fitted with a huge
fan to keep things on the cool side.
If you want to go fast these days, you need
to go brushless. If you want to go CRAZY FAST, you need to fit the
Castle Creations 2028 motor! This massive powerplant features 780KV
of power - that's many times the torque of the motors used in our
Sprint 2 Flux cars! You need a powerful motor to haul nearly 10
kilos of large-scale buggy through mud and sand, and this is
precisely the motor for the job! With extra-thick wires,
gold-plated connectors and cooling fins, the 2028 is the perfect
match for the Baja 5B Flux.
The 5B FLUX features a tool less easy entry
large sized battery box capable of holding two hard case 4s LiPo
packs or one 8s LiPo pack with an easy to reach opening for
connecting the battery(s) and ESC together.

| All-new extra-thick 9mm dogbones are the starting point of the 5B Flux drivetrain upgrade - these are new, thicker and stronger to outlast the roughest rides and racing action you can find! New wider rubber boots are included to keep the dirt and mud away. | Getting the power from the diff gears to the new dogbones is a wider diff shaft that perfectly fits the increased diameter of the dogbones. | The Baja 5B Flux is fitted with new Super HD drive axles to get power to the rear wheels, which fit the thicker dogbones. |
Unique in the world of large-scale racing,
the HPI Viscous Torque Differential gets the power to the rear
wheels as smooth as silk. It's easy to tune with optional diff oils
and is fully fitted with hardened metal gears and an alloy
case.
From the input shaft and idler gear to the
alloy-encased differential, every gear inside the sturdy Baja 5SC
transmission is made from long-life alloy to keep your truck
running all day long with minimal maintenance.
The awesome Baja suspension really comes
into its own with long-stroke VVC/HD shock absorbers and
high-sidewall truck tyres, letting the tyres do their business
whether you're driving over rutted-out whoops or flying over a big
tabletop!
VVC/HD shocks deliver improved handling over
rough terrain and feature large 6mm diameter shock shafts for
increased durability. Threaded shock bodies are used for easy
adjustment of ride height.
The high-torque SFL-11MG servo features
extra tough all metal gears for durability, an aluminum steering
arm and a water resistant case.
All of the latest HPI kits are now fitted
with reliable and feature-packed 2.4GHz radio
systems for supreme control and confidence! The latest
digital 2.4GHz radio technology allows you to confidently drive
your HPI kit with other drivers without worrying about things like
frequencies or radio conflicts. The radio features a pistol-grip
design with steering wheel for ease of use and realistic
control, compact size, servo reversing and a light
weight due to it requiring only four AA batteries. Set the
radio up for your car with custom features like servo reversing,
centre trim, dual rate and more. Only 6 AA batteries are required
to power the TF-20, so it's light in your hands, and the
foam-wrapped steering wheel makes it comfortable to hold. With the
adjustable, built-in failsafe feature, you will even be protected
just in case the radio ever loses signal.
