Thu, 25th March 2004

HPI/Mirage RC Enterprises racer Kevin Brunsden held onto his lead in the British Indoor Winter Series Championship points race to secure the overall Series win at the Finals Day on the 14th March. Kevin only needed to secure an A Final qualifying spot to effectively clinch the title such was his points advantage heading into the Finals Day. That was confirmed by the end of qualifying and with a quick double check meant the celebrations could begin!! Kevin was joined in the A Final by new Mirage Factory Team racer Andy Moore, running his brand new Pro 4 equipped with Nosram and Team Orion electronics, along side his new Team Mates. Also making a re-appearance in the top ten was Karl Marsden, Mirage's Midland Sales Rep for and thoroughbred racers, also making his Pro 4 racing debut! A total of five Pro 4 cars were in the A Final, making up half the total cars on the track! Tom Stanway and Kit Smith did a great job in a tough qualifying session to make the top ten. With Kevin winning 3 of the 5 rounds and finishing 2nd in the other, Kevin scooped the top spot in the British Indoor Winter Series Championship, Jonathan Bowden placed second after all the results were totaled, and third place went to Matt Thompson. Winning the Championship in the Stock class was Jimmy Madison with three wins and one second place finish. Second overall was Lee Chapman, with Darren Ford taking third place both running Pro4's.
