Here at HPI Racing, we're extremely proud of our recent releases (maybe you can tell from our recent live unboxings and the fact we drove a pair of Venture trucks up a mountain!) - and we know that HPI fans were eager to get their hands on our newest kits!
2017 was a big, big year for us, with EIGHT different new HPI cars and trucks hitting hobby shops around the world! One of those kits was made available in a couple of different versions, so that's actually NINE different kits released for the first time to enthusiastic HPI fans!
We kicked off last year with the Savage XL Flux, a monster truck that our legion of basher fans have been demanding! This amazing monster truck combines the size of the Savage 1/8th scale monster truck, and XL-long wheelbase and mind-blowing 6S power for an insane torque, speed and stunt combo!
During the summer, our big release was the Vaughn Gittin Jr "Fun-Haver" edition of the amazing Savage XS Flux - this little beast can hit 65 mph (105 km/h) at the pull of a trigger, is packed with fun (like the name suggests!) and can take a pounding!
The BIGGEST releases of the year - at least in size! - were our large-scale offerings that build on the huge fan base of the gas-powered Baja 1/5 scale cars and trucks. The first newly available Baja 5B vehicles are the result of a collaboration between HPI and Kraken RC, and now you can get the amazing Kraken TSKb-1 racing buggy and Sidewinder X5 sand rail roll cage & body sets pre-fitted on a ready-to-run Baja 5B chassis, completely built, painted and ready to drive!
You can also now get the huge Baja 5R on-road Baja, a massive 1/5 scale 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 that's over 1 meter/yard long! Highly anticipated among large-scale fans around the world, this gas-powered muscle car will be the best way to claim top dog honors at your local bashing spot!
Another super fun release from Vaughn Gittin Jr's RTR custom works garage was the Fun-Haver's official competition version of the Ford Mustang with awesome RTR Spec 5 tuning! With Vaughn's custom racing livery and the 4WD power of the RS4 Sport 3 chassis, you get ready-to-run convenience combined with RTR tuning awesomeness!
Fans of Ken Block and his Hoonigan antics were very pleased to see that the jaw-droppingly cool Hoonicorn (in its V1 design) was made available at the end of the year! Based on the full-time 4WD RS4 Sport 3 chassis, the RC Hoonicorn drives just like the real thing - just at 1/10th the size!
Of course, the most anticipated HPI kit release of 2017 was the Venture scale crawler truck! Released in 2 different colors, the Venture was released worldwide to massive applause, with owners immediately taking their trucks to trailheads and workbenches for driving and customizing fun!
