Team HB factory driver Ty Tessmann has won BOTH of the major events at The Dirt Nitro Challenge! After TQing the buggy A Main and qualifying second in the truggy A Main, Ty Tessmann has become one of the very few racers ever to win BOTH of the big racing classes at the annual Dirt Nitro Challenge race, one of the big races that help kick off the racing season in the USA.
Ty started off second in the truggy A Main, keeping a controlled distance from the leader until a critical steering part broke on the leader's truck and he went flying into a hay bale barrier. At this point, Ty kept his lead while 2nd to 4th place battled hard for the remaining podium spots, allowing Ty to keep a safe gap and never worry all the way to the finish! This was a great start to the A Mains, just the buggy main event to come! With a TQ in the buggy class, Ty was already off to a great start, and although he was chased by up-and-coming stars and current World Champions, they fell away through breakages and flame-outs, leaving Ty with a monster lead with nearly 20 minutes left in the 60-minute race. Teammate Jesse Robbers drove a preproduction CR8 to second place, while Ty ran a D8 Hara Edition buggy. Tyler Brown also did a great job to get on the podium with his D8 buggy, finishing 3rd overall in the Open Buggy class.
