LRP-HPI Challenge Grand Prix – Race Report

Fri, 29th September 2006

The 2006 LRP-HPI Challenge Grand Prix took place on the 15th-17th September at the ERC Wr.Neudorf, Austria. With over 100 entries from all over Europe including UK, Hungary, Germany & Austria the event was a huge success. The amazing track at the RC Car Club ERC – Wiener Neudorf proved to be very challenging for all the drivers, being described as a “labyrinth!” Top speeds on the long straight were: GTI 37km/h (short layout = half straight), Stock 45km/h, 17T 57km/h, Super Sport 58km/h and Nitro Sport 63km/h (2-gear-transmission).

Thrilling action came from all the classes, giving the spectators an excited, fun-packed weekend. The most popular cars on the track were HPI and Hot Bodies, with the Cyclone taking the chequered flag once again! The drivers also got to see the new Hot Bodies Cyclone S kit and by no surprise there was a lot of interest especially for the great stiffness and stability of the fibre-reinforced tub chassis, just like on the World winning HB Cyclone.
