Radio Information

Most HPI RTR (Ready To Run) kits will include the "TX-1" or "TX-2" radio. However, some kits feature the "TF-1" radio. See the badge on your radio to find out what radio you have. Please note that this information is for North American customers only. If you live in Europe or Asia see the warranty information that came with your kit for warranty contact information.

If you have the HPI TF-1 radio, click here for details.

If you have the HPI TX-1 radio, see immediately below for details.

The HPI TX-1 or TX-2 radio
Your HPI radio system is manufactured by Airtronics/Sanwa. All radio system repairs and questions will be handled by:

Airtronics, Inc.
1185 Stanford Court
Anaheim, CA 92805
(714) 978-1895

Please follow these instructions for returning your radio system to Airtronics for repair. Write a brief but thorough explanation if difficulties encountered and service required. Enclose the letter in an envelope. Tape the envelope to the back of your transmitter. Although we are at your service to discuss problems by telephone, a written description must always be included with equipment returned for repair. Except for problems confined to individual servos, return the COMPLETE RADIO SYSTEM even if you suspect only one part is at fault. When returning a unit or separate servos, please include PROOF OF PURCHASE DATA in your letter to enable Airtronics to determine if your equipment is under warranty. Completely separate the system from your car. Do not send any part of the car with the radio equipment.

If connecting plugs have been changed or other modifications made which interfere with testing procedures, such changes will be returned to factory standards at your expense. Be sure the transmitter switch is in the "OFF" position if you have batteries installed in the transmitter. Carefully pack all components to avoid shipping damage. All components must be wrapped in shock absorbent material and packed in a manner that prevents movement in the box.

Be sure to include your full return address and zip code inside the box as well as outside. It is also desirable to include a daytime phone number where you can be reached. INCLUDE A PACKING LIST OF ALL ITEMS RETURNED AND MAKE SURE THEY MATCH THE LIST. Insure the package. You are responsible if the package is lost or damaged. We recommend using United Parcel Service (UPS) whenever possible to send your equipment to Airtronics.

Unless otherwise instructed, all repairs will be returned to you C.O.D. (collect on delivery) basis. The cost of your repairs, return postage, and C.O.D. charges will be included. You may arrange to prepay these charges and save additional C.O.D. costs if you notify Airtronics in advance that you prefer to do so. Airtronics accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover charge cards. You can include your card name, number and expiration date when using a charge card.
