RCHTA 1998:

The National Model and Hobby Show

Pro-Line/Protoform

Among the largest booths at the show (rivaled only by Horizon Hobby's island) was the Pro-Line and Protoform booth. They had a few new tires to show off, and some amazing paint jobs on some of their bodies! Their new retro-Cali look was capitalized on their "Joe" NASCAR body. They also had some other NASCAR bodies painted by a whiz with the airbrush. Batman, Joker, the M&M car, the Corn Flakes car and others were replicated with amazing precision and detail. Also on display were their new sedan bodies, many painted in pseudo-sponsorship paint jobs ("Meet Joe" instead of "Approved by Dick", "Cool" instead of "Kool", "PL" instead of "D2", etc.)

Roland

Gerry from Roland put on demonstrations all weekend long for the Stika machine that Roland manufactures. These machines cut out vinyl that make it very easy to paint amazing bodies for racers!

Schumacher

Robin Schumacher himself was in Chicago to display the new SST '99 to racers. Their crazy .21-powered 2WD 1/10 scale truck was there, too! Too bad they didn't run it. On second thought, maybe it was a good thing they didn't!
