Asphalt setup
surface was new smooth asphalt, dusty

Front
HPI Dual Link Steering set
Gear differential (no internal spring, used brass spacer from #72457 optional spring set)
Green springs (one coil cut for more droop. gives more steering)
Med tires #4712
Metal universals (allows for more steering throw over plastic)
Custom sway bar. (Allows car to transition faster without loosing rear traction or stability)
Polished upper hinge pins to free up suspension movement.

Rear
Ball differential (Set loose, not necessary for diff to be tight when using front gear diff adjust until diff action is smooth don’t worry about tightness for forward movement. Used HPI 3/32 / 2.4mm Carbide diff balls and Losi carbide thrust bearing ($5 ….super smooth)
HPI Heat sink motor plate
HPI Micro Modified (required by race rules) with 12T metal pinion.
Associated Micro shock
Soft tires #4713

Chassis
Penguin P3500 (lm) Chassis and P3502s upper deck.
I adapted the P3502s upper deck to the P3500 chassis to allow me to use the HPI standard battery plate and battery configuration. I did this so it would be easier to switch battery packs between heats.

I used the thinnest narrowest G10 High roll plate (most flex)
Added .5mm spacer under roll plate (more stability)

I’m using a bearing on the left rear hub. This allows the hub to spin much truer then the plastic bushing.

The Sway Bar is 1mm piano wire. I heated the wire and melted it into the arms. The only other hardware you need is the aluminum stoppers.

Batteries are #2414 HPI 1100mah Ni-MH
