ETS Round 4: Poland - Race Report from HB's Andy Moore

Fri, 11th May 2012

Round 4 of this years ETS series took place this past weekend in Poznan Poland at one of the countries biggest motor shows, which had previously drawn close to 50,000 visitors. In practice I started out with my setup from the LRP race 2 weeks ago which felt good right from the off. As the traction built up during the day all I changed was to switch to thinner front oil to help tone down the aggressive feel on the high speed layout.

Qualifying was a bit up and down for me while I was chasing the ever changing traction. Q1 I had a 10th place finish after a mistake at the beginning of the run. Q2 I finished 5th in round with a clean smooth run. By the end of qualifying I had further improved my TC-XX by shortening the rear camber link and thinning out the diff oil a little, finished up 4th in the final run and one of only 4 drivers making 24 laps, just 1.5 sec off TQ for the round. So with a 4th and 5th counting I would line up 7th on the grid. Sometimes finals just don't go your own way and these 3 were some of the worst I've ever driven in. In finals 1 and 2 I was taken out whilst driving mid pack and had to be marshaled. In the 3rd final my car was pretty awesome again but unfortunately traction rolled while battling for 5th and I dropped down the order, eventually finishing a disappointing 9th overall. Now, it's on to the outdoor season and preparations for the Worlds!
