LRP Touring Car Masters

March 14-15, 1998

Inspired by the traditional "Nicolas Cup", a German club MSC Eppelheim and LRP Germany organized a fantastic Touring Car race on carpet as never seen before! More than 60 drivers from 8 countries raced in the "190mm Touring Car Class". Another 40 drivers competed in a kind of "Stock Class" (handout tires and motors) for three LRP Team Contracts.

Christian Wittke of GM Racing soundly beat the rest of the field by winning two of the three A-Main finals. Christian is shown here with the second and third place finishers. Congratulations to Christian!!
This is a photo of Christian Wittke's race-winning RS4 Pro. He used GM Racing Pro tires for the carpet race. A GM Racing V12 ESC, GM 13D (13 turn, double wind) motor, and GM VIS-matched batteries powered Christian's winning car.

Here is a further closeup of Christian's RS4 Pro. It shows more detail of the front end. The extremely high grip carpet surface let Christian run lay-down shocks. The racers were allowed to use GT1 bodies and a wide setup.

Christian Wittke is 20 years old, and from what we hear, a popular German R/C driver. Starting in 1/12 scale racing some years ago, he is now racing in all the on-road electric classes, including Touring Cars, 1/12 scale, Pro 10 and Formula 1). He's previously won other championships throughout Europe in the Youth class.
