HPI is proud to introduce a new Cup Racer body that is one of the legends of classic motorsports history: the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8! Incredible attention to detail and scale realism makes the HPI Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 body a true replica of the car that defined sports car racing for a generation of fans. The 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 body comes with vinyl window masks, a complete set of pre-cut vinyl decals and headlight buckets for an incredibly realistic look. Add your own choice of paint color and you\\\'re ready to take on the racing grid with this legendary vintage race car.

The Porsche name was built on agility and power: with a small chassis, low weight and powerful engine, Porsche cars such as the 356, 550 and 911 were very popular with racers and sports car fans around the world. In 1972, after a rules change in the World Sportscar Championship, Porsche unleashed the ultra-lightweight 911 Carrera RS 2.7 for the road, as well as the RSR racing version in the Group 4 GT class. This model was based on the 911 S which had won the Monte Carlo Rally and was designed to take on cars with engines twice as strong. For the 1973 racing season the engine increased in size to 2.8 liters, and the screaming flat-six \\\'boxer\\\' engine pushed out 300hp at 8,000 RPM, proving to be the ideal match for the nimble 911 chassis. The potent combination of a lightweight chassis fitted with a powerful engine proved to be unbeatable in the hands of the right drivers, and the production-based Carrera RSR 2.8 won several of the highest-profile races of the mid-1970\\\'s ahead of prototype cars from Ferrari, Ford and Maserati, including its race debut at the Daytona 24hrs as well as the Sebring 12hrs and the iconic Targa Florio - sealing its place in motorsports history.

Like all HPI bodies, the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 comes with a clear protective overspray film, window masks and two large decal sheets. Made of flexible vinyl to fit every curve on the body, the decal sheets include official Porsche, Carrera & Martini decals, headlights, tail lights, and door handles, plus official HPI Racing logos! The body also has drill locations marked for HPI Cup Racer cars, making it easy to line up the body mount and antenna holes.

  • Photorealistic die-cut premium vinyl decals include window frames, headlight, tail lights and more, plus official logos!
  • Headlight and tail light buckets
  • Overspray film and pre-cut vinyl window masks make painting fast and simple
  • A decal instruction sheet is included for decal placement
  • The body has dimple marks for body post drill locations
  • Molded from clear polycarbonate plastic for durability and long life
  • This is an officially licensed replica
  • Fits HPI Cup Racer and other \\\"Mini\\\" size cars
  • Clear body (finished example shown)

Match the Porsche Carrera RSR body with our replica Porsche \\\'Fuchs\\\' wheels for real period authenticity! To get the awesome dual-color look, brush on semi-gloss black paint, then use a cotton swab or cloth soaked with thinner or acetone to remove the paint from the rim and outer surface of the spokes.

Note: This body set includes the #85529 Body Accessories Set (Black) with molded 3-D windshield wipers, side mirrors, and adjustable exhaust tip.
