HPI x Vaughn Gittin Jr. x JTP at Monster Cup 2011, Las Vegas, NV

HPI was on hand at the 2011 Monster Cup Event at Sam Boyd Stadium, Las Vegas, Nevada this past weekend. HPI Athlete and 2010 Formula Drift Champion Vaughn Gittin Jr. had his Monster Energy Falken Ford Mustang RTR performing high speed drifting demos and drift rides for the lucky few! On hand was also Team Falken's Justin Pawlak with a sister Ford Mustang RTR joining in the drift action. In between the drift demos, the crowds on hand were entertained by Vaughn's other high performance vehicle, the HPI Baja 5SC (in his custom Monster Energy Falken livery!).

HPI Athlete, Supercross and Motorcross Pro Rider Malcolm Stewart was also on hand to experience the drifting action. Malcolm had met Vaughn while attending the Formula Drift event at Irwindale Speedway the previous weekend, which was his first time at a Pro level Drift event. Needless to say he was suitably impressed, Vaughn then promptly invited him for a ride along at the following week's Monster Cup event. Judging by the smiles from the "after ride" photos, it will not be the last time we see Malcolm in a drift car.
