Hello All, Here is an event report from the Kids Cancer camp that we did earlier this month with one of the San Diego Hobby shops “Krazy Kevin’s Hobby” P.S, during our time at the camp we saw a lot of familiar faces. Most of the kids that were there this year and last look so much better in health than they did in last years event. If you check out last year’s event and look at this year you will see the same. Who: HPI Racing, HB & Krazy Kevin's Hobby Shop What: Reach for the Sky Cancer Camp When: July 6th, 2011 Where: YMCA Camp Marston, in Julian CA Why: To help teach kids the FUN and Enjoyment that RC cars can bring to everyone. Wednesday, July 6th, 2011, HPI Racing/HB teamed up with Krazy Kevin's Hobby Shop, based out of Chula Vista, CA for the 2nd annual “HPI/HB and Krazy Kevin’s RC Experience” at The YMCA Camp Marston in Julian, California. This R/C experience is to help create fun for some children that face the terrible disease of cancer. The kids that attended ranged in ages 8-18. The day started at 7AM, and already you could hear the chanting and cheering of the 100+ kids attending the week long camp. Kids cheering at 7AM?! You know it’s going to be a good day!!! Setting up the track and getting the HPI Mini-Trophy Desert Trucks ready definitely created some attention. The goal of the day was to show kids the full experience of HAVING FUN with remote control cars. As the first group of kids arrived at the "HPI/HB Krazy Kevin's RC Experience," already you could see so many familiar, smiling faces that had attended last year. The first group wasted no time in talking and saying that they knew how to do this and how much fun it was last year. The kids got lots of time behind the wheel of the fleet of HPI Mini-Trophy Desert Trucks. Each group got 10 minutes of training and practice, and 30 minutes of track time on their own to race against their fellow campers. You could see the joy that the kids had, just by looking and listening to them laugh as they raced, crashed and bashed with each other. After a few groups of kids came and played it was lunchtime, and also time for the camp Directors to get their chance at having some FUN. Since lunch was over an hour long, it gave the HPI/Krazy Kevin’s team some time to recoup, grab some lunch and look over the vehicles. Just charge up some more batteries and after lunch they would be off crashing and bashing, and creating fun for another group of kids. Rounding out the day, kids with huge smiles on their faces were all that you could see. Knowing that you could put a smile on 100+ kids is one of the greatest and most successful feelings anyone can have. At the end of the day, after all 100+ kids had driven a HPI Mini-Trophy Desert Truck, came the damage report. With the durability of the HPI Mini-Trophy Desert truck and over 100 + battery packs later, there was not a single broken part on any vehicles. WHAT A SUCCESS!! I would like to take this time to thank everyone that made this all so successful: Paul and Kevin from Krazy Kevin’s Hobby Shop HPI Racing and HB team that make this happen. Trung Vuu: Program Director As well as everyone else that helped make this another successful event. Links: www.hpiracing.com www.hotbodiesonline.com http://www.krazyhobbies.com/
