HPI MS 139 @ Hangtown MX 2011

HPI RACING was on hand at Malcolm Stewart's Outdoor Season debut at Hangtown MX in Sacramento, California.
It was a full house at the track as the MX fans showed up in droves to witness the first round of the outdoor MX season in perfect 80 degree California sunshine. In addition to the full Pro field, the preceeding week also included races in many amateur classes from the kids beginners classes to Juniors and Seniors, Vets and the Open Pros. It was a full program of races for everyone!

With a full season of Supercross under his belt, Malcolm was anxious to tackle the outdoor MX Season. After shiowing good pace in the morning Practice sessions it was on to the First 250 Moto. Right out of the gate Malcolm was fast, battling it out with the top contenders, then taking the lead for most of the first lap. Malcolm continued to show good pace for most of the Moto and eventually finished mid pack after a hard and long Moto.
Then it was back to the pits for a breather and get ready for the second Moto. A steady flow of Malcolm fans stopped by the ARMA Suzuki City Nitro Circus Team Pits to wish Malcolm good luck, with many autograph seekers also vying for Malcolm's attention. After the short break it was time for the second Moto! Malcolm again showed good pace at the start of the Moto, lapping up with the front runners. It was not to be as Malcolm ran into difficulties during the Moto and had to pull it off the track and call it a day. All in all it was a promising start for the Outdoor MX Season, with the knowledge and experience gained over the weekend it's off to Dallas for the next round!
