We're looking for a web professional fluent in creative web design and the back-end development of real world solutions on a global scale. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional self-discipline, personal motivation, and the ability to consistently achieve positive results with little to no supervision. We have an excellent design staff and need the website to reflect the same exceptional creativity.

The person hired will join our Marketing department team and work closely with our Webmaster to create original web pages and sites. Essential duties include :

• Construct and implement the technical design for the organization's presence on the Internet.
• Create and maintain a consistent web site architectural structure across the organization's web applications.
• Perform updates, maintenance and creative work in collaboration with the existing graphic design team.
• Design prototypes, wireframes, and proofs-of-concept.
• Set and enforce compatibility and interoperability standards that ensure site accessibility for all users.
• Conduct research into current and emerging web technologies and issues in support of web development efforts.
• Track and evaluate new standards, technologies and trends in web architecture, development, design, and delivery.
• Identify, recommend, and prioritize new web features and applications.

Minimum requirements include:

• Website design and code development skills using the following primary applications: PHP, JavaScript/ HTML/DHTML/XML/CSS/Ajax, Linux, MySQL, Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator, Maya, InDesign, Miva Merchant (B2B/B2C technologies), MS Office apps and web browsers.
• Familiarity with Apache, SSH, SVN and CVS.
• Ability to write clean, well-structured markup code in a text editor.
• Ability to code functional pages from mockups in collaboration with graphic designers.
• Solid understanding and expertise with cross-browser/platform issues and associated modern browser compatibility issues.
• Knowledge of development tradeoffs between speed, design, flexibility and the underlying page architecture.
• Educated in development methodologies and best practices.
• Awareness of online accessibility issues and experience working to W3C accessibility guidelines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and flexible to accommodate demanding schedules.
• Passion for end-user applications design with a high awareness of current industry design and usability trends
• Ability to present creative solutions while still adhering to a tight production schedule.
• A web related portfolio.
• 5+ years of working experience in web technology development.
• 2+ years working with eCommerce websites.
• 1-2 years of Production Graphic Design experience.

A preference will be given to candidates who can also demonstrate any or all of the following:

• Previous experience working for an interactive agency, design studio or advertising agency.
• Experience with Action Script.
• Photography skills and related work experience.
• Understanding of print technologies.
