Streetcar Supreme 2009

Streetcar Supreme August 29, 2009. The last official car show for us folks out here in beautiful Honolulu, Hawaii. The stage was set for RC Drift Supreme to take place. Beautiful weather outside, hot and sticky inside. The partcipants for the competition were 19 drivers. Qualifying solo runs determined the top 16 that would compete for the trophy! Watching the drivers during practice try to tackle the beautifully laid out yet tricky track; with a blind corner behind a 20ft high, 3ft wide pillar, obstacles through out the track, with apex's that if hit too closely would result in hang ups on the hills or spin outs, but if done correctly would surely result in oohs and ahhhs from the crowd, it was obvious that only the best could survive and everyones "A" game was going to be brought. The sheer pressure of an ominous crowd washed out most drivers during the first round as many of the top prospects for the title became victims of the seductive track. Going in to the 2nd round and semi-finals the best drivers awwed the crowd. Leading up to the finals with the best 2 drivers of the night proving their worth by having to go to sudden death twice, had the crowd roaring a cheering as there was no clear winner until one driver had lost his nerve and crashed on the final run. Allowing Norman Espiritu to take the trophy and the glory!

12 entries for the hottest, jaw dropping, sexiest, crowd pleasing(no bikinis required!) body competition. Rc body that is. 2 themes were dominant: D1 drift, and VIP. Clean yet nicely detailed VIP Cars with huge blinged out rims vs Race ready, decaled out, huge spoilers with canards, Drift cars. The Drift cars were the obvious crowd and judge pleasers. Congrats to Justin Cezar for winning both Judged and People's choice categories.
