Basic RCGT Class rules:
- Race Fee: To join the series is free. The normal race fees will apply according to the track.
- Classes: Sportsman and Expert. If there are not enough expert drivers, they will be mixed into the sportsman group. Each class will still have separate TQ and Winners even though they are run in the same main. Number of cars per main will be at the discretion of the Race Director. Any driver who has raced “Expert” or “Pro” in the past will automatically be entered in the Expert class. Drivers who enter the series that has a chassis sponsor will also automatically be placed into the Expert division.
- Bodies: Any realistic (i.e. real car) bodies (no mazda6, dna, dna2, mazdaspeed6, stratus type bodies, etc) HPI, Tamiya, etc. IFS bodies will *NOT* be allowed for this class due to their unfair advantage. In the spirit of the series, the IFS bodies are only available for use for certain types of Tamiya chassis. We'd like to ensure that anyone can run any chassis and any realistic body. - Per the request of HPI HQ... the HPI Escudo body is not legal for this series.
- Body Width: 190mm and 200mm are allowed
- Wings: no high downforce aftermarket wings are allowed. (i.e. no mazdaspeed6 wings, etc). Must used supplied wings that came with the body. Judgement on this will be at the discretion of the race & series directors. No additional pieces can be added to the wing (i.e. no homemade wings). The wings must be cut along the cut line. Wings can be cut down in size.
- Motors: Any ROAR Legal 27T Brushed motor is also legal. 17.5 Brushless Motor: Any manufacturer. No prototypes. Must be OTC (over the counter)
- ESC: Any BL ESC - Same as motor rules.
- Tires: Any HPI x-pattern tires. # 4790 (D compound), 4490 (pro compound), 4495 (pro belted compound)
- Inserts: Must use stock X-Pattern inserts. No double stuffing. No aftermarket inserts allowed.
- Rims: No dish rims. Must be spoked. Aluminum allowed. Any offset. 26mm in size. No alterations are allowed on the rims. i.e. no enlarging the existing vent holes or adding additional vent holes.
- Chassis: Any 4WD touring car chassis is allowed
- Weight: 1400 grams
- Batteries: Any 2 cell lipo rated at 7.4v up to 5200mah. Must be hard cased. Any 6 cell nimh rated at 7.4v up to 5200mah. No industrial batteries are allowed.
- Fans: Fans are allowed on the motor BUT without an external battery. This will prevent people from coming up with a multiple fan set ups with a receiver pack size lipo powering it. Again... we're trying to increase attendance and not increase cost. The fan(s) must plug into the receiver and not have its own power source. The fan that comes on the esc is legal.
