In the somewhat quiet, but very import and tuner car heavy city of San Gabriel, California, and the newly relocated and refreshed Speedtech R/C was where it all went down for the first round of the rapidly growing RC DriftClub Drift Showdown 2008 series. This particular Sunday proved to be yet another beautiful day in the sunny state of SoCal, combined with a sweet track layout, and a total of over 50 entrants! The HPI/Hot Bodies cars were reppin’ it to the fullest, with a huge mix of cars ranging from podium-placing E10’s to Cyclone Moore-Speed kits, and everything in between. Like all of the RC DriftClub events, the field is full of novice drivers all the way up to some of the most talented drifters around. That translates into some intense drifting action, with every pitch, angle, and slide can make or break you. This event saw a slew of Toyota drifters, favoring the ’86 and the Soarer for the competition, as did the concourse winning Toyota Soarer. Posted below is the top three from each class.
