Doing Our Part By: Dave Cornell A few Months ago the offices of HPI Racing/Hot Bodies were lucky enough to have an important visitor. This important visitor was a young man by the name of Ryan Batta. While you may not recognize the name, it is a name that is very important to us here at HPI and Hot Bodies. The fact of the matter is that Ryan is the son of one of our awesome warehouse crew and also a Specialist in the US Army Infantry stationed in Iraq! We were very happy to have Ryan as a guest while he was on leave and visiting his Father Wilfredo (Willy) Batta. While he was leaving the building I happened to overhear him say to his Father Willy that he really would like to have one of our brand new Wheely Kings to take back with him and help pass the time while still on active duty in Iraq. Well that is all I had to hear! I was now on a mission! I started getting together everything necessary for Ryan to have a bunch of fun and tear up the local terrain with one of our Wheely Kings, but wait, that isn’t all! Upon hearing about my plan the then General Manager of HPI Racing Bart Boyer told me that while one Wheely King is A LOT of fun that TWO Wheely Kings would be even better, and it would give another of our soldiers something to remind him/her how special they are to all of us here at HPI Racing/Hot Bodies! While the stock Wheely King is great, we really wanted what we sent him to be special so I grabbed a couple our new Hummer H2 bodies, sprayed them jet black and applied some special US Army decals that I was able to pick up at a local Army Surplus store. While this may seem like a lot of effort for just a couple of RC Cars, we here at HPI Racing/Hot Bodies don’t see it that way. We saw this as an opportunity to give a little something back to those that keep not only us the people of the United States of America safe, they also do their best every day to give the people of world a safe place to live. To all of our service men and women out there both past and present we would like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH and PLEASE COME HOME SAFE!
