Sunday, October 21st marked the 7th round of the JBRL Series, and the second to last round of Hot Bodies’ Arrive and Drive series! So you know what that means, the next HB Arrive and Drive event is the finals, where the winner will be crowned, and will go home with a complete, one-year Hot Bodies sponsorship, that puts them on the exact same team as world champs Travis Amezcua, Atsushi Hara, and Andy Moore! So, with that said, all of the entrants for round 5 of the series knew that this was their last and final chance to get that golden ticket for the finals, and that meant some of the fiercest competition to date!

The day started out nice, with the sun shining bright into the late morning and afternoon, and by lunchtime, Jimmy had the show running as smooth as ever. With a total of 13 qualifying heats, the Arrive and Drive race was rolled into the very middle of the schedule to allow for everything to get sorted out, and work with the racers’ others schedules as best as possible. When the mains finally rolled around, the insane and crazy winds had picked up and were starting to get wild, so at this time the eye goggles had been pulled out of those pit bags, and anyone without a pair was unfortunately at a disadvantage.

When the Arrive and Drive main came up, you could feel the seriousness throughout the air, as the only things on these drivers’ minds were getting either first or second for their chance to run in the final round. Things were looking good for both Karl and Joel, as they had clinched the first and second place qualifying spots. As the tons sounded, they were off, and as cars were stumbling over one another, positions were being swapped like crazy. After the first few laps had passed, and the positions were finally getting sorted out, the frontrunners were as follows; Dillion, Dan, Joel, and Peter. The rest of the field had got the short end of the stick, including the TQ holder, Karl. As the 10-minute main started to come to an end, it was still Dillion that was out in front, dropping some super consistent lap times, that allowed him to finish just about a whole lap ahead of the field. Second went to Dan, about seven seconds ahead of third place, Joel. Peter and Robbie rounded out the top five for this last qualifying round of the Hot Bodies Arrive and Drive Series! Stay tuned for the next event, on November18, 2007, for the last and final round of the series, and to find out whom HB’s newest factory pilot will be! So with that, thanks to Jimmy, and all of the racers that made it out, and finally, a big congrats to Dillion and Dan, and to all of the winners that will be competing in the final round! See ya’ there!

We’d also like to send out a big thanks to Futaba and Jimmy for working with us on this first-ever HB Arrive & Drive Program. This wouldn’t be possible without you guys!
