HPI attended the XDL Show at the Irwindale Speedway in California on Dec
3rd, 2005. The XDL Show had some of the top Japanese pro drift drivers
and off-the-hook exhibitions of stunt motorcycle riding. There was also
a car theme park area which contained vendor displays with all kinds of
JDM and American aftermarket car parts, car clubs, opportunities to test
drive real Mazda MX-5 cars on the racetrack, and much more.
HPI showed off the latest Stage-D drift gear, bodies like our new Toyota
Trueno for 1/10th cars, and our new Volk TE37 wheels. For maximum impact
we brought out the full-sized HPI Subaru Impreza race car. The HPI R&D
staff were on hand demonstrating the art of nitro RC drifting,
impressing the crowds all day long. Also joining us at the HPI RC track
area were members of the Touge Knights RC drift club, who showed off
their drifting skills. To add to the fun, Heather Compton from the HPI
Sales Team was thrilling the crowds with a fully optioned, wheelie bar
equipped Savage stunt truck!
The day concluded with a 2 hour drift and stunt show on the main
speedway track which contained some truly insane stunts.
HPI would like to thank all the fans that showed up, we look forward to
seeing all of you at the next event!
