The RS4 Sport 2 follows a great HPI
Racing tradition - low price, high performance! Based entirely upon the
RS4 Pro 2 kit, the Sport 2 uses the same suspension geometry and almost
all the same parts of the Pro 2 to make an affordable car for casual racers
and hobbyists everywhere!

The chassis bottom is absolutely
smooth, with nothing hanging to catch on the ground. The motor area
has been opened up to make attaching pinion gears easier for racers. |

The RS4 Sport 2 uses a centralized
motor mount for identical left-to-right chassis balance. Low-friction
belts provide the power transfer with a minimum of drag for high efficiency
and longer run times! Fit wide bodies on the chassis by using our 3mm
offset wheels. Nothing else is needed to widen the car!
The Pro 2 front and rear suspension
geometry is easy to tune for any track condition. Strong front upper and
lower arms are used for increased rigidity.

Racers
will appreciate the two sets of front uprights come with the RS4 Pro 2
kit that allow adjustable front caster of eight and ten degrees. Extra
upper and lower suspension mounts also come with the kit so you can change
the kick-up to 2 degrees and the caster to 10 or 12 degrees for more on-throttle
control and less sensitive steering on slippery tracks. The rear toe-in
is also adjustable between one and two degrees out of the box. The use
of fixed adjustments as opposed to turnbuckles means racers won't have
to guess what their adjustments are, and the parts are clearly marked
so racers can see what their adjustments are.
The
drivetrain consists of our proven two-belt drive system and features front
and rear low-friction belts made of a new, more flexible material for
more efficiency than the RS4 Pro. Both belts have standard belt tensioners,
and the front belt tensioner uses ball bearings to reduce belt drag. Our
maintenance-free gear differentials are used to make it easy for anyone
to run the car. These durable metal bevel gear diffs are tough and can
be easily upgraded to ball diffs!
The
Pro 2 type upper deck and main chassis are made from durable G10 black
fiberglass. Optional aluminum posts can be used for adjustable chassis
stiffness. The chassis features our battery door stick pack holders and
a fully countersunk bottom for maximum ride height and performance!
Bellcrank steering with a built-in servo saver is standard
on the RS4 Sport 2, with an adjustable Ackerman link consisting of a threaded
rod and ball ends for reduced steering slop.
High
impact nylon front and rear shock towers are extremely light and strong,
with a total of six different shock mount positions front and rear. The
proven HPI composite coil over shocks come with the kit, plus silicon
shock oil and silicone o-rings come with the shocks for super-low friction
performance. Our new style composite shocks feature a coarse thread for
easier threading and no cross-threading problems!
A full set of ball bearings, wide
front bumper and nerf wings, transponder holder, threaded rod camber links,
adjustable fine-pitch sliding body mounts, and a full set our new 26mm
Racing Slick Belted tires on our high impact nylon wheels are included
in the RS4 Sport 2 kit.
The RS4 Sport 2 uses the features
of the wildly popular Pro 2 and packages them in a convenient, easy to
build and maintain package. If you're looking to play around with a touring
car, this is the kit for you!
The RS4 Sport 2 comes unassembled,
with no electronics. You will need: a 2-channel radio with receiver and
servo, electronic speed control, .05 type electric motor, one or more
6-cell battery packs (assembled in stick or side-by-side pack style) and
a peak detection battery charger.
