An update from the HPI engineers: The gearing chart on the inside back page of the RS4 Rally manual is incomplete. The gearing chart shows the HPI pinion and spur gears that will fit in the RS4 Rally, and what the final drive ratio is with the combination of gears shown. The three columns on the right are missing the last final drive ratio that will fit in the car.
The combination of 90 tooth spur gear and 31 tooth pinion will give a 6.18 final drive ratio. A 93 tooth spur and 28 tooth pinion will give a 7.07 final drive ratio. A 96 tooth spur and 25 tooth pinion will give a 8.18 final drive ratio. Be sure to write these into your manuals so you will have the complete range of gears that will fit!
