BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
Setting the brake adjustment
on your Nitro car or truck (Click here)
In order to make sure
you do not damage or melt your brake or clutch assembly, follow these
instructions carefully. They are already noted in your kit manual, but
it is worth checking before your run your truck.
REAR SCREW SHAFTS
Some owners of the first batch of Nitro Rush kits may experience
one of the screw shafts on the inside rear of the suspension arms coming
loose. If this happens, you can use a thick plastic-based glue like Shoe
Goo on the threads to help hold the screw shaft in place. You can also
replace the screws shaft with our #6282 3 x 42mm stainless steel hinge
pins. You will need four #Z242 2mm e-clips if you use the stainless steel
hinge pins.
DOING DONUTS
It is very important to note doing "donuts" (holding
full throttle while turning all the way in one direction) for an extended
length of time (a full tank) is extremely stressful to the differentials,
and is NOT recommended.
SLIPPER CLUTCH
ADJUSTMENT
Note that the slipper clutch nut (see page 19) should not
be set too loose. Too loose of a setting can melt the slipper pad. It's
better to be too tight than too loose with the slipper clutch on the Nitro
Rush.
Raising the Rear
End
Move the top of the shocks one hole in on the rear suspension
arm or use the 2mm shock clip from the #6817 shock parts set. You can
also purchase our blue springs (#6798) for the rear end of the Rush to
make the rear end sit higher. A selection of springs is also useful to
tune the truck to track conditions. The #6817 parts tree is a very useful
option part for all of our kits, it contains three pairs of different
thickness shock clips and rebuild parts.
If you are an experienced
Nitro 2WD truck driver we suggest our new white front springs (#6783)
and purple rear springs (#6799), this will help give the Rush more steering
and raise the rear ride height.
Dogbones
The Nitro Rush kits include our 3rd generation MT dogbones,
and should have no problems with breakage or stress.
Suspension Arms
Note that you do NOT need to boil the suspension arms that
come with the Nitro Rush kits.
