Assembly Instructions - Page 10, Step 9 To the Main Assembly Instructions Page This step installs the servo in the car. Step 9 Apply some motor spray, HPI Nitro Car Cleaner or alcohol to a rag or napkin to wipe down the mounting surface of the main chassis and servo. This will remove any finger oils, grease and dirt that may be on the surfaces and help the servo stay secure on the chassis.
Cut the servo tape included with your kit to fit the servo case. For a standard size servo, use a double thickness of the tape.
Without touching the area that the tape will attach to, apply the tape to the bottom of the servo case.
This is what the servo will look like after the servo tape has been applied. This is a micro-sized servo, typically used in electric airplane or glider applications, but perfect for the performance-minded Micro RS4 owner, and micro servos don't cost any more than normal servos.
Cut any excess tape away from the servo.
Peel the backing from the servo tape, then set the servo aside (standing upright!).
Take the Micro wrench that you used to tighten the rear wheel hub nuts and insert it as shown from the bottom of the chassis through the hole in the front of the chassis. Now it's a convenient servo centering tool!
Making sure not to touch the servo or your fingers to the chassis, place the servo arm into the servo centering tool. Put pressure on the servo with your fingers to squarely place the servo onto the chassis.
Turn the chassis over and cut away any excess servo tape that is on the bottom of the servo case.
This is the completed servo installation.
