In this step we will complete the assembly of the battery pack.
Step 5
Find the plug set with the small red plug attached to a long red wire and shorter black wire. At the end of each wire is a battery tab. Insert the tabs through the holes in the back of the #73408-4 battery holder part.
Press the battery tabs into place with the L-wrench.
This is what the completed battery holder should look like with all the battery spring tabs in place.
Use your finger to press the wires into place on the back of the battery holder.
Wrap the excess wire through the wire clip molded onto the battery holder.
Press the battery holder clip into place. It should make a snap when pushed in all the way.
Press the long spring from your parts box into place in the double-pronged battery clip, then insert this clip into the #73408-4 battery holder part. NOTE: pay attention to the top edge of the clip, it has a ridge and forces the clip to fit in only one way.
Press the clip all the way into place. It will make a loud snap when pressed in all the way.
Slide one of the large black o-rings over the clip.
