Ty Tessmann and his younger teammate Tanner Stees ruled the roost at the Medicine Hat Shootout, taking the top two spots in the premiere class, 1/8th buggy!
Ty's father and mechanic, Gord, sent us this report after the race weekend:
This past weekend Ty raced at his home track for the 5th Annual Medicine Hat Shootout, this is the major fund raising race for his home club/ track. Ty only raced pro buggy as he was busy helping water and maintain the track as well as helping other racers with setup and tuning throughout the weekend. Ty managed to TQ pro buggy even though he didn’t race the 3rd qualifier due to suffering from heat stroke.
Ty started on pole for the 30 minute final and didn’t look back, the rain started to fall with 5 minutes left to go in the race but the race continued and Ty came out on the top step of the podium. Fellow HB factory driver Tanner Stees from Arizona made the trip up to Canada to race, and qualified 2nd then finished 2nd behind Ty in the final. We want to extend a huge thank you to HB/HPI for donating a D812 for the club to raffle off as part of the fund raising, the buggy was won by Corey Wilk. Thanks again for providing Ty with amazing equipment to help him succeed.
