At his first visit to the famous Snowbirds race in Florida recently, 16-year old JJ Wang from China represented HB-HPI in fine form during this unique, all-day, all-night racing event. Waking up at wild hours in order to get practice runs in was a new and unique experience, but that's what comes with the territory at this 24-hr race!
JJ's main goal as the only member of the HB-HPI factory racing team was to get into the A Main, which he did by qualifying 5th after 4 rounds of qualifying. The single-Main nature of the Snowbirds meant that it was all-out for 'glory or nothing' over the 5-main A Main, and getting hit off the line didn't get JJ off to a good start, but he was up to 6th before having to pull off the track.
