RALLYDAY 2012 CASTLE COMBE RACE CIRCUIT The crowds started to arrive early, maybe because the sun was shining for a change, for a day of everything to do with rallying.
The star of the show this year was Petter Solberg putting his Ford Fiesta RS WRC through its paces on the circuit. There was an abundance of rally cars & motor clubs on show and on the feature rally stage – historic, WRC, clubmans and ex works. The Rally Car Experience gave people the chance to be a passenger in a rally car and be driven by an experienced rally driver. Challenge trucks and Trials vehicles put on an amazing display driving around a specially built very off-road course. Race2Recovery (for injured servicemen) was raising funds for the 2013 Dakar Rally. Being a passenger in a Wildcat speeding around 2 circuits of a gravel stage was amazing. No Limit was sited next to the Camel Trophy 4x4 display at the entrance to the rally raid area so all spectators had to pass our playground, and they were there in their thousands. Ian and Gareth from MMR Largescale came down for the day to join in the fun with No Limit. Last year everything was slippery because of all the rain so No Limit could only put on a limited display, but this year, because the ground was dry, No Limit and MMR were able to put on a full display of jumps, donuts and bashing with the HPI Baja 5B's and Baja SC's, plus Gareth's spectacular flying HPI Vorza, ending with a spectacular smash'n'bash with the HPI 5SC's smashing through the tailgate of the wrecker car. It was a very exciting rallyday with non stop rallying entertainment. Thanks go to Brian & Darin for inviting us. Put Rallyday in your diary for next year, you'll really enjoy it!
