The MMR Baja festival has been and gone for another year. If you were unable to attend I'm afraid you really did miss out! The weather was a little troublesome with rain on both Friday and Sunday. Saturday's weather was a dream, much the same as last year.
Saturday was the main day of the event with the HPI Baja Endurance qualifying race. This was a 2 hour endurance race, with the winning team getting the opportunity to take part in the 12 hour HPI European endurance finals in Holland, representing the UK in September! 4 teams took part, with over 20 drivers in total taking part in the main event. It was a very tight race with only a few laps separating the top 3 teams until the 3rd quarter of the race when team MMubeR started to pull out a small lead from Orpington RC after they experienced several problems in succession. After the main event all teams entered had a dip into the lucky dip of prizes very kindly donated by the event sponsers HPI, DDM, TGN, MMR, Uber RC & Killer RC. Saturday evening seen everyone enjoy a well deserved hog roast followed by an evening of go karting and indoor Baja racing on the MMR indoor go kart track. With over 60 people in attendance, it was the biggest MMR festival yet - let's hope it can get better and bigger for next year!
