HPI was proud to sponsor the ESLROC HPI/Coca-Cola 600 race in Everett, Washington. This year's event took place on the expansive asphalt parking lot of the local Lowe's home improvement store. The track was laid out using the popular Road Dome system. Many at the race agreed that it was the best they had seen in the series. Unfortunately, the first day of qualifying was cut short due to a downpour that saturated the track. However, the racers wouldn't be subdued. Once the rain stopped, they worked hard to dry the track off as quickly as possible.
The second day greeted the racers with clear skies and warm weather; perfect for racing! After catching up on the qualifying rounds, the race continued into the Mains.
Ben Wheeler, the ESLROC race coordinator and the person in charge of the series, hired three trophy girls from the local radio station to help hand out prizes and add to the fun of the event. The racers received an amusing surprise when the ESLROC girls agreed to participate in an exhibition race using the drivers own race cars!
The results were.. interesting to say the least.

As always, the Concours event brought out some fantastic cars. The ESLROC girls were called on to be the judges, and based their decision on three categories: Most Detailed, Most Creative, and Most Realistic. With so many great looking cars on display the choice was difficult.

HPI had some of our great looking car and truck bodies on hand to give out to top finishers in the race. Ben also had plaques and other great prizes for the winners. All in all, this event was an excellent example of camaraderie, competition, and most of all; fun! It was an enjoyable event and we look forward to next year's race!
