After the driver meeting was completed, all the racers gathered around the lineup of cars to let their friends and family take pictures.

With quite a range of cars to choose from, it's always tough to pick the best-looking paintjobs. With the help of Eric Forsythe, the manager of the Hobbytown USA, Thad and Frank selected the first pick of cars to be pulled out.

After this group of cars was chosen, the top three cars were picked out of the line, based on each judges' personal preferences.

From the top three, an overall winner was chosen and the remaining two cars were given "runner-up" status.

Tommy Dang, John Gant (winner), Jeff Beck

Winner John Gant surprised us with his very detailed lightning-and-flame paint job. Although simple compared to some past Concours Challenge winners, the cleanliness of the paint job, combined with good color combinations made it a winner! Congratulations, John!

John Gant went home with an HPI Challenge T-shirt and a brand new Micro RS4 kit!, as well as the big trophy!

Runners-up Tommy Dang from Houston and Jeff Beck from Tyler, TX also received HPI Challenge T-shirts for their efforts.

Tommy Dang's Stratus

Jeff Beck's Alfa Romeo, complete with CD sound system and external features like mirrors, windshield wipers and more!

After the Concours Challenge was completed, it was time to start the racing!
