Thanks! HPI
Challenge USA Home Page With over 130 racers, the TSRCAR club can lay claim to the highest attendance of the year so far of any of our HPI Challenge USA races! We'd like to personally thank everyone who came out to race and have fun with their fellow HPI racers! Although not everyone got a plaque or trophy, every racer in attendance got a free body, hat and plenty of HPI decals. TSRCAR club members Dennis Young and Bob Ciolino did a great job running and announcing the races, providing all the racers and spectators with running commentary and race positions during the races. Dennis' wife helped run the concessions table, which made it easy for all the racers to eat, since the main street of town was a few miles away. Congratulations again to our Concours Challenge finalists (see the picture below): Greg Stormer (2nd, tie), first place Tim Pennington, and Randy Rickard (2nd, tie)! A special thanks goes out to our Proceed racers, who provided a wonderful showcase of speed as they ran their Proceed 1/8 scale cars during the heats and mains. Unfortunately, one of the fastest guys, Ted Hammer, wasn't able to participate in the 15-minute long main because he had to run off to join the Delta/Proceed crew in Texas for the ROAR On-Road Fuel Nationals. Maybe next year we can see who's the fastest between Ted and Billy DeBenedictus!
Finally, we want to thank the racers who made the long trip and significant commitment to the weekend's racing just to have fun with their buddies and run their cars. We talked with tons of racers who drove 8 hours or more just for the weekend, and talked with racers from Kentucky, Indiana, West Virginia, Michigan, Ohio and many other states! The geographical area of the United States that was represented was amazing, and shows the draw and popularity of a one-make R/C racing series. We're proud to say that although not everyone attended who wanted to, by judging from the response from racers who wanted to race but couldn't we would have had well over 175 racers in attendance!
Thanks again everyone, and good luck racing!
