2000 HPI Challenge Malaysia

 

The first round of the HPI Challenge in Malaysia was held on the 9th of April. The track is located in Endah Parade Shopping Mall, Kuala Lumpur. It is an air-conditioned permanent indoor tarmac track with full facilities. 

The race was managed by Hobby Performance Centre (HPC), which consists of :

Mr. David Lee and Mr. Jessel Leong ( Race Coordinator),
Mr. Gary Seaton ( Radio Compounding and Camera man)
Mr. Tan Chee Eng (Track Management)

There was only one class contested, which is the RS4 Pro. Rules and regulations are simple. Batteries limited to 2000mah, rubber tires and Orion Pro BB 2 motors only, with no restrictions on winds and turns. Motors were given as hand out for the first race only.

The Championship series consists of 8 Rounds, with 6 best results taken into account for the final standings. The Champion will be sponsored by HPC to attend the HPI Challenge in Japan. As for the 2nd and 3rd position, they will be eligible to attend the HPI Challenge in Japan, however on their own expenses. Trophies and prizes will be awarded to the top ten drivers.
 
Format of race: 3 qualifying heats of 5 minutes each
Finals A and B main - 2 rounds total, 5 minutes each
Finals C main onwards - 1 round, 5 minutes
For this round, only the A Main Finals were held.

Round 3 - Endah Parade Raceway - 9th July
 
Round 4 - Seremban Raceway - 13 August

Subsequent races will be held on every 2nd Sunday of the month. Venues will be announce at a later date.

The HPI Challenge for the Nitro series will be held at a later date.
