Thank You's!
The Main Events promised
some great matchups between the fastest guys in each class. Electric RS4
Mini, Electric RS4 Sedan, Nitro RS4 Open and Super Nitro RS4 especially
had some great races! Let's go straight into the final results for each
race!
The
Giveaway Line!
 |
These
are just a few pictures of the super-long line that formed up in mere
seconds for racers to get their free HPI or Honda S2000 T-shirts,
as well as their free bodies just for racing! |
 |
Jason
Dearden, our HPI Europe General Manager, checked the names of each
racer who came up to the table. Shawn Ireland passed out the Honda
S2000 shirts while David Kouche gave out the HPI shirts. Thad Garner
and Bill Martinez helped out with the bodies for each racer. |
 |
The
line took about two hours to die down, and several dozen bodies were
passed out. Our Box Stock Nitro RS4 racers received two bodies, an
extra incentive to race in this new class for the HPI Challenge races
in the US! |
 |
All
the racers we talked to were happy that HPI passed out free bodies
and T-shirts (a value of about $40 to $60 for a $10 entry), and we
were happy to provide a fun and exciting weekend for our HPI racers
in the area! |
Electric
RS4 Mini
 |
Marc
Pfenninger of Switzerland (center) took home the first-place plaque
and a Super Nitro RS4 kit for winning the Electric RS4 Mini A Main.
We'll be sending a big HPI Challenge Trophy Cup to him to put on his
mantle back home! Frank Killam (left) and Torrance DeGuzman (right)
got 2nd and 3rd place plaques for their close race at the finish! |
Electric
RS4 Sedan
| Chris
Lucena (3rd place C Main), Torrance DeGuzman (2nd place C Main) and
L'il Al Sevilla (C Main Winner) with their plaques for taking the
top 3 spots in the Electric RS4 Sedan C Main. |
 |
| Robert
Drew (2nd place B Main), Johnny Pun (B Main Winner) and Kenneth Cunamy
(3rd place B Main) pose with their plaques! |
 |
| First-place
finisher Thad Garner got his HPI Challenge Trophy Cup, but since he
is an HPI Factory Team Driver (as well as 2nd place Bill Martinez
and 3rd place Shawn Ireland), the kit prize of an RS4 Rally was kicked
down to Charlie Barnes, who got a plaque as well! The rest of the
A Main competitors also went home with a wooden plaque to hang on
their walls! |
 |
Nitro
RS4 Mini
 |
Jamie
Schoolcraft (in center) took home a new Nitro RS4 2 kit for his effort
in the Nitro RS4 Mini A Main, edging out 2nd place Nestor Rinonos
(right). Manny Lubong, Jr. (left) finished in third. Jamie will also
be getting one of the large HPI Challenge Trophy Cups sent to him
for his accomplishment! |
Box
Stock Nitro RS4
| Box
Stock Nitro RS4 winner Peter Sergeant from the UK (center) took home
an RS4 Pro 2 for his excellent showing in the A Main! Daniel Trnka
(left) took 2nd place with an RTR Nitro RS4, and Mark Rebeck (right)
went home with 3rd place using his Nitro RS4. |
 |
Nitro
RS4 Open
 |
Chris
Young (center) is presented with a brand new Nitro RS4 2 kit by Bruce
Garfield (holding the kit) and Geoffrey Lockwood (over Bruce's shoulder)
of American Honda. Luis Wang (far left) took home 2nd place and Daniel
Trnka (center), again with his RTR Nitro RS4, secured 3rd place in
the Nitro RS4 Open class! |
Super
Nitro RS4
| Orlando
Sherman (center) went home with first place in the Super Nitro RS4
A Main, and a new RS4 Rally kit as well! Orlando will also get a big
HPI Challenge Trophy Cup soon! Paul Gallardo (left) escaped with 2nd
place just a few seconds ahead of Frank McKinney (right), who was
happy enough with third. Good racing, guys! Frank didn't make it easy
on anyone in that race... |
