With about 200 racers total, and many with more than one car, you can bet judging the Concours Event was very difficult indeed!

Thanks to George Gonzalez from R/C Car Action for this great picture! Thanks to George Gonzalez from R/C Car Action for this great picture!Judges David Kouche (HPI USA Sales Manager), Jason Dearden (HPI Europe General Manager) and Frank McKinney (HPI Webmaster) took at least ten minutes to decide on three cars that had the best detail, most realistic paint job, and any extra goodies that would take them to the top of the Concours Event!

Thanks to George Gonzalez from R/C Car Action for this great picture! While Mike Greenshields went over the issues important to the driver's meeting, the racers near the front straight watched David, Jason and Frank walk up and down the VERY long line of cars, looking for the best paint jobs and most impressive bodies. An early standout was an Acura NSX equipped with a motion sensor car alarm, blinking LED radar detector and engine starting noise!

Thanks to George Gonzalez from R/C Car Action for this great picture!Frank made a call on a nicely painted Honda Civic Mini painted in the 5Zigen colors, and that car was set aside for later review as well.

Thanks to George Gonzalez from R/C Car Action for this great picture!Jason and David pointed out a great Acura NSX body that was totally decked out with chrome wheels, tire decals, mesh 3D grille, tail pipes, inner body set, tinted moonroof, tow hooks...the list can continue! That car easily made it to the front of the line.

Talking in low tones to prevent a premature reaction from the nearby crowd, it was finally settled that the detail work, effort and time put into the NSX with the chrome wheels and tow hooks was just too much to keep it out of first place!

Thanks to Doogie from R/C Car for this great picture!David Kouche announced to the waiting crowd which car was the winner, and a loud cheer went up from the friends and family of Ian Aquino, a racer from Rowland Heights, California! Ian stepped forward to get his recognition and photo opportunities from the many magazines that were present. Jamie Schoolcraft's sound effect-equipped NSX was voted into second place, with Nestor Rinonos winning third for his 5Zigen Civic Hatchback body! Nestor is no stranger to doing well in our HPI Challenge Concours Event, having won it earlier this year in Tustin! Congratulations to everyone who entered and especially to the top three winners!

Thanks to Doogie from R/C Car for this great picture! For his efforts (two weeks of painting, detailing and decaling), Ian won himself a brand new Super Nitro RS4 kit with our huge Alfa Romeo body, and a big HPI Challenge Trophy Cup proclaiming he was the final winner of the year for the HPI Challenge Concours!
